Firebird is one of Europe’s oldest aircraft producers: As early as 1975 the founder of the company, Fritz Schweiger, started building hang gliders in the Allgäu, and in 1986 he entered the paraglider market with great success: gliders like the Twist and the Apache were amongst the best sellers of their class.

Ozone are very proud of the quality of their products and it's something that they feel passionate about. This page explains why they chose some of the materials they use and how there wings are put together.They started to develop our first wing on a clean sheet of paper. Choice of materials was one of the first problems to solve. Issues such as ageing, stability, ease of handling and cost etc had to be taken into account. In the end we chose the materials that we knew would do their particular jobs best.

Since centuries people are driven by the infinite possibilities of combining wind and sails to create vehicles.  The 21st century offers increasingly more space and tools for creativity than ever before.
